My first day of working for myself began with me getting up my exact same hours that I was 'used to' and sitting at my kitchen table. I began to map out my day as I had been doing at my previous employment and pretty much operated that way for about a month.
How did I eat? Well, as part of my 'quick exit plan', I figured out what I could do to generate enough funds for several months until the business would kick in. In retrospect, it was the best thing in the world that I could have ever done.
I figured out soon after that there was not much difference with my life in terms of finance. I made some quick adjustments to curtail all spending unless it was essential. I began an immediate campaign to re-introduce my business to those 'old' contacts that I new would support me as I re-launched. They were wonderful and remain part of our business, even today.
I believe that every person's life has a purpose and that purpose is not to be wasted. Pursue your dreams and goals and they may lead you to your purpose. If you walk in the direction the wind blows, you get to keep your hat.
We're #1 because I was strong enough to walk away.
