The Album launched him to the top of Billboards R&B charts, resting at the #1 position on the R&B chart for an astounding seven (7) straight weeks. Subsequently in 1987, Music Mogul, Quincy Jones selected Al B! as the first winner of the "Sony Innovators" Talent Search in a blindfold contest. Subsequent, Al B! would go on to work with "Q" on several projects from the Movie "Listen Up" to most notably, the Platinum Single "Secret Garden" from "Q's" Back on the Block, Multi-Platinum soundtrack. Accompanying Al B! on this groundbreaking quartet; the late, great, Maestro Mr. Barry White, El Debarge and James Ingram produced by the legend himself and now Al B!'s God Father Quincy Jones.
